American Arctic Freeze: This Texas Fountain Changed Into Ice

Although Texas is not generally known for its cold climate, this year is different. Photos taken as the temperature dropped into the low teens show a fountain and bench in Houston, Texas, completely covered in layers of thick ice. The water flowing around the fountain froze in place because someone must have forgotten to turn it off before the bitter cold weather arrived. It was kind of amazing to see.

This winter has changed from an ordinary one to an arctic blast! Even though it might be tempting, it’s probably not a good idea to ice skate around this fountain.
