The rare and beautiful strawberry finch is native to the grasslands of tropical Asia and is a favorite as a caged bird due to its vibrant plumage. Despite the fruity name, we’re not sure they’ll taste anything like strawberry, and we’d rather not find out.
The misleading name may lead people to believe they can add it to a smoothie or dip it in chocolate. That would be scary, so we suggest leaving them in the wild for people to observe from afar. For bird watchers, its vibrant color is a sight to behold.
