Weird Colors: A Thresher Shark in Iridescence
We have no idea how the shark got so fast, but we hope the person made it back into the water. This particular shark is a pelagic thresher, not one that was caught in an oil spill. Because of their skin’s different colors when exposed to light, they are sometimes called the green thresher shark.
Surprisingly, many fishermen today choose to release their catch, but we bet these shiny sharks would be very valuable. The shark is probably saying to itself, “I know I’m beautiful, but I have to get back in the water now or I’m going to bite you.”
