39 Harmless Habits at Home That Unknowingly Affect Eco-Friendliness

Harmless Habits Home: Avoid Wetting Wooden Floors

Although wood flooring is often very attractive and durable in itself, you still need to take care to keep it clean. Your floor is just as susceptible to water damage as wood often is. The boards are prone to sagging from excessive water and in worst cases, waterlogging and rotting. Additionally, excessive moisture can only cause wood floors to collapse.

Instead, use it sparingly when cleaning hardwood floors. As long as you don’t flood the house while you clean, a polyurethane coating on the wood floor should be enough to protect it from a small amount of water.
