39 Harmless Habits at Home That Unknowingly Affect Eco-Friendliness

Harmless Habits: Avoid Using Vinegar Near Granite

One of the most resilient surfaces available is granite. To protect the stone and give it a nice shine, they even use a sealant that looks a lot like hardwood. Although vinegar is often promoted as a miracle cleaner, you should not use it to clean granite countertops. After repeated use, it can actually remove that shiny shine, leaving your countertops looking dirty.

For everyday cleaning, soap and water are far better. However, if you really want to clean your countertops thoroughly, you can mix some diluted rubbing alcohol with water to get rid of any germs.
