Harmless Habits: Avoid Cleaning Tile With Toilet Bowl Cleaners

Despite their extreme durability and use in everything from shower walls to floors, tiles do have one drawback. The grout, which is visible between each tile, is what attaches them to the wall and protects the underside of the tile. But grout can sometimes crack and peel off the wall. This is especially true if you clean your tiles with a toilet bowl cleaner.

Because toilet bowl cleaners are usually very acidic, they work well for cleaning porcelain but should be kept away from any tile. The last thing you need is tiles falling off the walls and floors covered in grout.
