Off the coast of New Zealand, Rena was a cargo ship. But she lost her balance and leaned heavily to one side because of strong winds and a navigational error. She also lost her cargo, so it’s clear that she didn’t just lose her equilibrium.
The fact that the cargo included oil and other hazardous materials and that they leaked out makes the situation even worse. Thankfully, nobody was harmed. But eventually, the ship would split in half, just like the Titanic did. The worst day ever is thus documented by this photo.
