How to Make Your Own At-Home Compost Easily and Quickly

Brown Material is the Second Necessary Component of At-Home Compost

Although it’s not exactly the opposite of green materials, brown materials are less common in the kitchen. For the compost bin, you will need brown material, anything with a high carbon content. It can be anything made of trees. Ideal materials include paper, sawdust, small branches, and twigs. The ratio of your green to brown material should ideally be 50/50. Corn stalks and kitchen waste are also great for adding a little extra carbon to your compost pile.
